Animal Reports

For the past few weeks Room 16 has been learning about writing research reports. After our class learned how to research topics on their own, they then chose an animal to write a report on. Below you will see a drawing of their animal and a brief report of what they learned. All of the students enjoyed learning about the animals and I even learned a couple of things myself! :)

ChatterPix

I introduced our class to the app ChatterPix. Once their animal reports were completed, the students learned how to use ChatterPix. They had to draw their animal, take a picture of it, apply the mouth to their animal, and record their reports all on their own. It was so cool to see them work!

Sphero

Today my class got to use the Spheros. They learned how to change the color of the Sphero, make it move front, back, sideways, and even in certain shapes! They had a blast!

Anchoring Answers in the Text

Our class is reading Harry Potter. With this novel, the students are given comprehension questions and they are to go back into the text to find the specific answers. Here are a few that I caught doing exactly that as I was getting a few kids for a small group. I LOVE to see them using the strategies that I taught them! :)
