Fishing for 10

In math we are learning equivalent names for numbers. The students learned a new game called "Fishing for 10". This game is played just like "Go Fish" except they need to find pairs of cards that equal 10. Needless to say, the kids LOVED playing this game during math!

Number Grid Math

In class we have been learning about number lines, patterns, and number grids. Today we made a number scroll from 0-1,000! Then the students were able to play a number grid game afterward.

"Good Fit" Books

Students learned the importance of picking books based on their individual needs and how well the books "fit" them. We related this activity to choosing shoes. Ask your child about it! :)

Classroom Rules

Yesterday we read David Goes to School and No David! by David Shannon to help us come up with rules for our classroom. Once we read these books, we discussed the text, and came up with 4 main rules. (See below.) The kids then signed their name to our rules poster.

The First Day Jitters

PYesterday we read The First Day Jitters by Julie Danneberg and discussed the story. Then the students had an opportunity to write about their own first day jitters. :)
