Turkey Recipes

This week we had a ton of fun writing turkey recipes! We talked about directions, measurement, transition words, and ingredients. The students wrote their own recipe and some of them are hilarious! I couldn't add them all, but here are a few examples of them.

How to Blow a Bubble

Our class has had a very fun time leaning about "How To" writing. Check out the writing process in action! I'm not even sure the kids realized they were learning! :)
Step 1: Pass out the bubble gum!
Step 2: Expectations of chewing gum and participation rules.
Step 3: Demonstrations.
Step 4: Go over each step as they do it, and write it down.
Step 5: Chew, chew, chew, practice, practice, practice.
Step 6: Write, write, write.
Step 7: Add a catchy beginning and a "wrap-up" ending.

Mrs. Haskins demonstrating how to blow a bubble!

Mrs. Clement's turn!

Now it is Mrs. Wulitich's turn!

Practice, practice, practice. Write, write, write.
Crafting and writing time!
Final product!

L-Club Reader

Last week we were lucky enough to have a high school L-Club member come to read to our class! Austin Belt read the book Arthur and the True Francine by Marc Brown. They were able to learn a valuable lesson of being honest and how to be a good friend. The kids were also able to ask our guest reader questions and out sports and school.

Veteran's Day

Today Oak Hill Elementary Student Council held a program for our local veterans. It was such a nice program and our kids were so happy to see some of the veterans they know and love! We want to thank you for all of your hard work, dedication, and sacrifice!
